My placement was considerably shorter (only 3 weeks during the Easter break). I was also not as fortunate as you in the choice of possible projects, I had just the one option! However I think the programme is a fantastic idea, and you've definitely got a sweet deal with your placement! My main interest is in the technical side of the experiment as it is closest to my line of work. However the other aspects are very interesting and I am hoping to learn from this experiment.
